The Food Safety Team of Ludhiana conducted a special inspection drive targeting milk and milk-based food products. During the campaign, a total of 10 paneer samples were collected from different locations.
These samples were taken from dairies and paneer manufacturing units located in Pakhowal Road, Phullanwal, Lalton, Gill, and other areas. The team closely inspected hygiene arrangements, the quality of milk and paneer, and compliance with food safety standards.
Dr. Ashish Chawla, District Health Officer, stated that food items like milk and paneer are an important part of people’s daily diet, and therefore no compromise with their quality will be tolerated. He said that the Food Safety Team is regularly conducting such inspection drives to ensure that safe and standard-quality food products reach the public.
He further informed that all collected samples have been sent to a government laboratory for testing. After receiving the lab reports, appropriate legal action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act and related rules.
Dr. Chawla emphasized that providing clean and quality food products to the public is the department’s top priority. He also clarified that the campaign against adulteration and the sale of substandard food items will continue in the future, and violators of food safety rules will not be spared under any circumstances.
