*15-Day Multi-Dimensional Drive Led by Senior Officers Targets Public Safety, Youth Protection, Traffic Violations and Emerging Security Concerns*

Ludhiana, September 2026:

Moving beyond routine enforcement, Commissionerate Police Ludhiana undertook a focused 15-day programme of preventive and targeted policing, addressing a wide range of issues affecting public safety, public order and community security.

The initiative was carried out under the overall leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, with DCP-rank officers directly leading and supervising field operations, alongside ACPs, SHOs/ICs and local police teams.

*One Programme, Multiple Public-Safety Priorities*

The campaign brought together interventions across diverse areas—security checks at hotels and gun houses, action against illegal spas, hookah bars, salons, casinos and satta points, verification of travel agents, college-area checking for prevention of teasing, and drink-and-drive enforcement.

Special attention was also given to protecting young persons, with focused checking around colleges and action against activities that can expose students to unsafe or unlawful environments.

*Over 1,600 Persons Checked; 8 FIRs and 7 Arrests*

Across the city and rural areas, police teams checked more than 1,600 persons during the campaign. Targeted enforcement resulted in 8 FIRs and 7 arrests, besides recovery of cash and other material in cases involving unlawful activities and drinking-related violations.

The approach was not limited to arrests: preventive action and field verification were used wherever early intervention could address a concern before it escalated.

*1,094 Vehicle Violations Detected*

A parallel enforcement drive focused on vehicle modifications and practices affecting road discipline and visibility. During the drive - 913 black-film violations, 172 flasher-light violations and 9 illegal hooter violations were detected—1,094 violations in all.

This sustained enforcement reinforces Ludhiana Police’s focus on road discipline, compliance and preventing the misuse of vehicles or unauthorised signalling equipment.

*From Enforcement to Prevention*

The strength of the initiative lies in its breadth: public-order enforcement, youth safety, regulatory checks, traffic discipline, security verification and preventive policing were pursued as part of one coordinated field strategy.

The programme reflects a clear policing philosophy—identify vulnerabilities early, put senior officers on the ground, engage with local communities and act before minor concerns develop into larger public-safety issues.
