Punjab Police Fact-Check Exposes Fake Advisory Being Circulated After ASI Harjit Singh’s Killing
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu has hit out at the circulation of a fake police advisory following the killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Harjit Singh, revealing the audio is completely fradulent. He questioned Congress leader Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia for circulating the audio without verifying its authenticity or facts.
During a media interaction, AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu said, “This is fake. It is a fake audio that they are continuously tweeting and forwarding without seeing, knowing or verifying it.
He asserted, “Raja Warring did not see this as an issue concerning a woman, nor did Bikram Singh Majithia see this matter. Perhaps they did not see it because they did not want to see it. This is fake, a fake audio, which they are continuously forwarding and tweeting without seeing it, without knowing the facts and without verifying it.”
Punjab Police Declares Alleged Advisory Fake
Punjab Police Headquarters also issued a fact-check clarifying that no such advisory had been issued. Punjab Police stated, “Punjab Police Headquarters or any other Punjab Police office under it has issued no advisory directing police personnel to avoid wearing uniform while going to or returning from duty, or to wear civilian clothes while commuting to or from duty.”
