Nationwide Campaign Launched to Fill All Government Job Vacancies Within One Year

Warning Issued to besiege Prime Minister’s residence if Vacancies Are Not Filled Within a Year

Chandigarh, September 17: To demand the recruitment of approved government vacancies across the country, the Indian Youth Congress organized a special press conference today at the Punjab Pradesh Congress Bhawan, Chandigarh under its nationwide campaign titled "Meri Degree Da Ki?"

Punjab Youth Congress Vice President Karanveer Singh Dhillon and Secretary Rahul Kalia addressed the press conference and informed the media that, following the formal launch by National Youth Congress, this campaign has similarly been launched in Punjab. Press conference was conducted with the launch of the website and the sharing of future outlines.

Karanvir stated: "The youth of our country are troubled by unemployment, and the lack of job opportunities has frustrated them. Employment in the private sector is continuously shrinking, yet despite over 50,05,850 approved posts lying vacant across public sectors nationwide, the government refuses to initiate recruitment. Filling these 50 lakh approved vacancies will not only provide employment to our youth but will also fundamentally improve public services such as schools and hospitals."

Launching this campaign on the Prime Minister’s birthday, the Youth Congress highlighted the stark contrast where the Prime Minister keeps his own degrees shrouded in secrecy, while educated youth holding multiple degrees are forced to wander from pillar to post. An average family cuts back on daily necessities and takes out loans to pay tuition fees, hoping these degrees will secure their children's future and support their old age. However, credentials that once symbolized pride have now turned into symbols of the BJP government's failure. Whether it is a student spending nights studying in libraries or a youngster dreaming of supporting family, all feel deceived by the government's false promises.

The Prime Minister, who promised 2 crore jobs every year, remains incapable of filling even 50 lakh vacant posts. The question arises: when crores of youth are qualified, why are these posts lying empty?

A young person is not merely seeking a job; they seek an opportunity to support their parents, improve their family's financial condition, and reap the rewards of years of hard work.

This is not merely a question of unemployment; it is a question of the nation’s youth and their future. We do not seek conflict with the government; we demand accountability and transparency.

Our demands are clear:

Issue a time-bound recruitment calendar for every vacant post.

Establish definitive timelines for the entire process, from recruitment exams to final appointments.

To the youth of this country:

Your hard work must not go in vain.

Your dreams matter.

Your time matters.

Your future matters.

Over the next year, the Youth Congress will run a persistent nationwide movement demanding that all these vacancies be filled. If necessary, we will picket Chief Ministers' offices and gherao the Prime Minister's residence. Youth will be mobilized and sensitized through initiatives such as the "Job March" and "Degree March."

If the government still fails to act, the Prime Minister's residence will be besiege on his next birthday. The question raised by our youth is no longer just a demand; it has evolved into a nationwide movement for justice. The call of "Meri Degree Da Ki?" will move democratically onto the streets, spark substantive debates across universities, and reach every village in the country.

Our elected government must now answer for the future of its youth.
