Chandigarh, September 3: Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon said India’s economy is witnessing strong growth and moving steadily towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Dhillon said India recorded a 7.8 per cent GDP growth rate in the first quarter, which, according to him, reflects the strength and resilience of the Indian economy. He said India is performing strongly compared with several major global economies and is emerging as an important driver of worldwide economic growth.
He attributed the growth to policies focused on manufacturing, investment, infrastructure and technology. According to Dhillon, the IT and financial services sector grew by 12.1 per cent, manufacturing by 9.2 per cent, and investment and infrastructure by 11.9 per cent.
Dhillon further said that domestic consumption increased by 7.1 per cent, while exports recorded 12 per cent growth, indicating stronger economic activity within the country as well as India's expanding presence in global markets.
He said rapid development in infrastructure, industrial production, digital technology and employment opportunities for young people is contributing to India’s economic transformation.
Dhillon said India’s growing economic strength is boosting the country’s confidence and global influence. He added that continued policy reforms, investment and public participation would be important for achieving the vision of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047.
