*deputy Commissioner Holds Second Review Meeting Under Mission Jeevni; Duty Roster Ordered For Follow-up Of High-risk Pregnancies*

The second review meeting under the Special Intensive Campaign of Mission JEEVNI under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sh. Himanshu Jain, IAS, to review compliance of the directions issued on 25th August 2026 and to further strengthen the tracking, follow-up and counselling of High-Risk Pregnancies (HRPs). Officer on Special Duty (Urban Affairs) Dr. Pragati Verma, IAS, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep, District Family Planning Officer Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, Nodal Officer Sh. Jeewandeep Singh, CGO Sh. Ambar Bandopadhyay and all Block Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) of Ludhiana were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner and the Officer on Special Duty directed all SMOs to prepare a monthly duty roster for the tracking of High-Risk Pregnancies, providing for rotational telephonic follow-up of HRPs along with the concerned Block Statistical Assistants (BSAs), and to share the roster by. They further directed that SMOs submit an Action Taken Report every Tuesday indicating the number of HRP follow-ups completed by telephone during the preceding week.
Directions were also issued that where a woman not categorised as high-risk at her first ANC visit is later found to be high-risk, the change shall be flagged at once and the case included in the HRP data, with this information moving from the ASHA worker to the ANM, and from the ANM to the LHV and the BSA. The Deputy Commissioner directed that counselling of HRP women shall not be limited to the ANM level and shall be conducted at one to two levels above the ANM, with ANMs flagging every HRP case to the SMO concerned. SMOs were further directed to sensitise ASHA workers and ANMs in their jurisdictions every week and submit the Action Taken Report, and to send the name of the best performing ASHA worker from each block to this Office.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed that every High-Risk patient be clearly informed by the treating doctor about where she is to go next for management, and that SMOs carry out inspections of hospitals and nursing homes in their areas. Special emphasis was laid on the blocks of Koom Kalan and Sahnewal. All concerned officers have been directed to submit their compliance reports to this Office by 8th September 2026.
