Rayat Bahra Professional University Hosts Gaurav Sammaan Samaroh-2026; Himachal Governor Kavinder Gupta Honours Achieving Students

Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur, organised the grand ‘Gaurav Sammaan Samaroh-2026’ to honour students who excelled in academics, sports, NCC, essay writing and other co-curricular activities.

The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shri Kavinder Gupta as the Chief Guest, while former BJP Member of Parliament Shri Avinash Rai Khanna attended as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman, Rayat Bahra Group, and Dr. Chander Mohan, Vice-Chancellor, RBPU.

On his arrival, Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by the police administration, followed by a formal salute and police band performance.

During the ceremony, outstanding students were felicitated with awards and certificates for their achievements in academics, sports, NCC, essay writing competitions and various other activities.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta congratulated the awardees and encouraged students to pursue excellence with discipline, hard work and perseverance. He emphasised that participation in sports and NCC helps develop leadership qualities, character and a sense of responsibility towards the nation.

Chairman S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the dedication and achievements of the students and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing young talent with an empowering environment and ample opportunities to excel in diverse fields.

Former MP Shri Avinash Rai Khanna also congratulated the achievers and urged them to remain committed to ethical values and responsible citizenship. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Chander Mohan lauded the students for their accomplishments and for bringing laurels to the university.

As part of its commitment towards a healthier society, the university also unveiled an official ‘Poster Against Drugs’. This was followed by a pledge in which students and staff resolved to stand united against substance abuse and contribute towards building a drug-free society.

The event concluded with the presentation of mementoes to the dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem.
