Welcoming the appointment of new Punjab BJP office-bearers and the organisational reshuffle involving several district presidents, approved by BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin and announced by Punjab BJP President Sardar Keval Singh Dhillon, BJP Punjab spokesperson Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala congratulated all newly appointed office-bearers and extended his best wishes. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Punjab BJP President Sardar Keval Singh Dhillon and Organisation General Secretary Shri Manthri Srinivasulu, the new team would further strengthen the organisation and take the party to new heights in Punjab.
Prof. Khiala said the BJP is neither a family-run nor a personality-centric political party. Organisational responsibilities are assigned not on the basis of lineage or inheritance, but on merit, hard work, dedication and commitment to the organisation. He said that this is why the party generally reviews organisational responsibilities every three years and undertakes fresh appointments and restructuring to infuse new energy, fresh thinking and new leadership. This, he added, reflects the BJP's robust internal democracy and strong organisational culture.
Reacting strongly to criticism by certain disgruntled workers targeting Punjab BJP Organisation General Secretary Shri Manthri Srinivasulu, Prof. Khiala said such statements are not only against organisational discipline but also provide unnecessary political ammunition to the party's opponents. He stressed that party discipline must remain paramount under all circumstances. "Constructive criticism is always welcome, but it must be based on facts, reason and organisational propriety," he said.
Prof. Khiala asserted that those questioning the Organisation General Secretary should first account for their own contribution to the party. They should explain how many booths they have activated, what role they have played in strengthening the organisation at the mandal and district levels, how many new karyakartas they have enrolled, and how much time they have personally devoted to expanding the party.
He said Shri Manthri Srinivasulu has worked tirelessly across Punjab to strengthen the booth structure, expand the organisation into rural areas, induct new workers and keep the organisation active at every level. According to Prof. Khiala, the significant expansion of the party's support base after the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections and the increase in the BJP's vote share to nearly 19 per cent in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were the result of sustained organisational efforts, in which the Organisation General Secretary played a pivotal role. He added that Srinivasulu strengthened the organisational framework from the booth level to the state level, trained party workers, maintained organisational discipline and worked relentlessly to prepare the party for future electoral challenges.
Prof. Khiala said the BJP derives its strength from its dedicated cadre, and the Organisation General Secretary serves as the key coordinator who channels that collective strength. Instead of targeting him, every party worker should focus on strengthening the organisation in his or her respective area.
He further stated that in the BJP, the organisation is supreme, not individual positions. Politically motivated and baseless remarks against those working to strengthen the party must stop immediately. Making unfounded allegations against the Organisation General Secretary without evidence amounts to disrespecting thousands of selfless party workers who dedicate themselves day and night to strengthening the organisation.
Concluding his statement, Prof. Khiala thanked BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin, Punjab BJP President Sardar Keval Singh Dhillon, and Organisation General Secretary Shri Manthri Srinivasulu, while appealing to all BJP workers to remain united, disciplined and committed to further strengthening the organisation so that the BJP emerges as the preferred choice of the people in Punjab and achieves its goal of forming a double-engine government in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
