Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister S. Tarunpreet Singh Sond today said that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, will organise 92 specially designed drone shows across the state as part of the year-long commemoration of the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
 
Chairing a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Rupnagar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar at the District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar, Minister Sond reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming drone shows and other programmes being organised to commemorate the historic occasion. The meeting was attended by MLA Mohali S. Kulwant Singh, Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Heritage Promotion Board Sh. Deepak Bali and Sant Baba Pardeep Das Ji of Dera Kathhar, associated with Dera Ballan. Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains also participated in the meeting online.
 
S. Sond said that, in accordance with the guidance of revered saints, the Punjab Government has been organising a series of programmes to mark the 650th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. These include Kirtan Darbars, university seminars, school-level competitions and screenings of a specially produced documentary on the life, teachings and Bani of Guru Sahib.
 
He said that the specially designed drone shows will commence in September, with more than 500 drones participating in each show. Through an immersive digital presentation in the night sky, the shows will depict the life, Bani and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in an engaging manner, particularly to connect the younger generation with the eternal message of Guru Sahib.
 
The Minister said that each drone show will feature approximately 25 to 30 minutes of aerial presentations. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to identify suitable locations and ensure that the general public is informed well in advance about the venue and schedule of the shows.
 
S. Sond further said that the Punjab Government considers it a privilege to have the opportunity to serve the people of Punjab through programmes dedicated to great spiritual and historical occasions. He recalled the commemoration of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and said that the year-long celebrations dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji are another significant initiative.
Reviewing preparations for the proposed Shobha Yatras, the Minister said that four yatras originating from Kashi, Jammu, Bathinda and Faridkot will culminate at the sacred site of Khuralgarh Sahib, where Sri Guru Ravidas Ji is revered for having stayed for a considerable period. The yatras will be taken out in November, with the Shobha Yatra originating from Kashi scheduled to stay in Mohali.
 
S. Sond said that the specially produced documentary on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji has so far been screened in around 3,500 villages out of approximately 13,500 villages across Punjab. A fleet of 50 vans is continuously travelling across the state to screen the documentary and spread the message of Guru Sahib.
 
He added that the Punjab Government will organise a three-day special celebration at Khuralgarh Sahib in December, marking the culmination of the year-long commemorative programmes.
 
Sant Baba Pardeep Das Ji expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government and Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann for organising a comprehensive series of programmes to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said that the followers of Guru Sahib were pleased with the efforts being made by the State Government and appreciated that the programmes had been planned with due guidance and consultation with revered saints.
 
Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, who participated in the meeting online, said that the year-long commemorative programmes had generated a positive and spiritual atmosphere among the Sangat. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Sangat for their collective efforts in planning and conducting the celebrations.
 
MLA Mohali S. Kulwant Singh said that the drone shows would be organised successfully in Mohali with the participation of a large number of devotees and members of the public.
 
Advisor to the Punjab Tourism and Heritage Promotion Board Sh. Deepak Bali said that the immersive drone shows would be an innovative medium to connect particularly the younger generation with the Bani and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
 
Prominent among those present at the meeting were DC SAS Nagar Mrs. Komal Mittal, Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs Punjab, DC Rupnagar Aaditya Dachalwal and DC Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Gurpreet Singh Aulakh, who participated online, along with AAP SC Wing State President S. Gurpreet Singh GP and General Secretary S. Baljinder Singh Chonda.
