Minister Aman Arora expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Cheema for their decisive action to stop harassment of traders and businessmen during the festive season.
In recent days, the government received reports that some officials in the Excise Department were conducting excessive raids, particularly because of the festivals. This was creating some difficulties for traders and the public. Taking notice, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema instructed officials to immediately stop such activities.
Minister Arora said that festival days are crucial for businesses, as they promote trade and shopping in the markets. To ensure that no one faces unnecessary troubles during this time, the government has directed excise and tax officials not to disturb anyone.
He encouraged anyone who experiences issues to report them to the government, using the helpline number provided by Minister Cheema.
Minister Arora concluded by wishing all traders and the people of Punjab a joyous Diwali and reiterated his appreciation for the government's supportive measures and their commitment to provide the best environment for everyone during the festive season.
