Further intensifying the ongoing election campaign for the Ludhiana (West) Assembly bypoll, Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora held a well-attended poll meeting at BRS Nagar here today. The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from local residents and party supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Arora engaged with the people and highlighted the progressive policies and public welfare programmes of the AAP-led Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He spoke in detail about the government's achievements in key areas such as education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure, and investment.
Arora made special mention of the state’s ongoing anti-drug initiative ‘Yudh Nashiyan De Virudh’, terming it a crucial step in eradicating the drug menace from society. He also spoke about the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF), describing it as a life-saving service that has become a boon for road accident victims.
Highlighting his own contribution as a parliamentarian, Arora presented his three-year development report card. He listed major infrastructure projects including the Halwara Airport, elevated road, construction of four new bridges on the Sidhwan Canal, 700 parking lots, and cycle track. He stated that many of these projects are either completed or nearing completion.
Punjab Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Dr. Balbir Singh also addressed the gathering. They lauded Arora’s commitment to Ludhiana’s development and urged voters to ensure his victory with a thumping majority in the upcoming bypoll. They emphasized that the AAP government is delivering clean, transparent, and people-centric governance benefiting all sections of society.
Appealing to voters, the ministers and other party leaders encouraged everyone to press the “broom” symbol on No.1 in the EVM on June 19 and elect Sanjeev Arora for sustained development.
Several AAP leaders including Dr. Tajinder Pal Singh, MLAs Amandeep Kaur, Hakam Singh, District President Sharanpal Singh Makkar, Prabhjot Kaur, Simmi Chopra Pashan, and Gurpreet Bedi were also present.
