The Maitri Sanskar Teacher Training Programme was organised today at the Sohan Lal Pahwa Auditorium, Ludhiana, in the presence of Sh. Himanshu Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana. Ms. Dimple Madaan, District Education Officer, Ludhiana, also attended the event along with Mr. Mitra Jeev, Mentor – Maitri Sanskar and Direct Disciple of Maitreya Dadashreeji and Governance Cell member Bhawna Gahlot.
The Maitri Sanskar Value Education Programme, an initiative of MaitriBodh Parivaar Charitable Trust, has been initiated by the District Administration, Ludhiana, in 12 Government Schools as a pilot initiative for three academic years. The programme aims to strengthen character development, emotional well-being, life skills, responsible citizenship and positive values among school children by integrating values into everyday learning through student workbooks, experiential activities, storytelling, reflection and real-life application. Participating schools will also receive learning materials, teacher training, academic mentoring, classroom support and continuous monitoring and assessment.
The training programme oriented teachers towards the initiative’s experiential and child-centric pedagogy, enabling them to conduct engaging value-based sessions and integrate the programme effectively with regular classroom learning.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Himanshu Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, highlighted the importance of education in nurturing not only capable minds but also responsible, compassionate and value-driven citizens. Mr. Mitra Jeev emphasised that Maitri Sanskar seeks to help children imbibe values such as compassion, responsibility, integrity and respect in their everyday lives.
The initiative represents a collaborative effort between the District Administration, Ludhiana and MaitriBodh Parivaar Charitable Trust towards the holistic development of children. Following its implementation in the initial 12 Government Schools, the Maitri Sanskar programme will be extended to other Government schools in Ludhiana in the coming period, enabling more students to benefit from value-based and holistic education.
