A Case Has Been Registered Against 250 Industrialists Who Staged A Protest Against Power Cuts.

Oct3,2026 | Jagrati Lahar Bureau | Chandigarh

Punjab BJP State General Secretary Anil Sareen strongly condemned the registration of cases by the police against industrialists and traders in Ludhiana and demanded that the FIRs be withdrawn immediately.
Speaking to reporters here today, he said that industrialists and traders had staged a protest over continuous power cuts lasting 8 to 10 hours. However, instead of accepting their demands, the AAP government registered cases against around 250 industrialists and traders, which he said was unjust.
Sareen said that before coming to power, Arvind Kejriwal had promised to provide 24-hour and affordable electricity to the trade and industry sectors. However, he alleged that the AAP government is now imposing long power cuts and attempting to suppress the voices of industrialists and traders who are protesting through an authoritarian approach.
Sareen said that the Punjab BJP stands with industrialists and traders and would not allow any trader to be harassed.
Questioning the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Punjab, he said that the industry is migrating out of the state due to such policies of the AAP government.
He demanded that the government immediately withdraw the FIRs registered against industrialists and traders and ensure uninterrupted, round-the-clock power supply to the industry without power cuts.
Districts Present Sunil Moudgil, general secretary Sheenu Chugh, Kailash Choudhary,Vice President Mahesh Sharma, Press Secretary doctor Satish Kumar were present.
