The Annual Training Camp (ATC-69) of the 1 Punjab Remount & Veterinary Squadron NCC commenced at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University , Ludhiana, under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Ludhiana. The camp, being held from October 2 to October 11, 2026, has brought together 124 NCC cadets for an intensive training programme focused on discipline, leadership, teamwork and national service.
The camp was inaugurated by Col B. Satyanarayan, Camp Commandant, who highlighted the importance of discipline, leadership and dedication towards nation-building. He encouraged the cadets to make the best use of the training opportunities provided during the camp.
A unique feature of ATC-69 is its specialized orientation as a Remount and Veterinary Squadron camp. Along with regular NCC activities, cadets will also gain exposure to animal care, veterinary practices, animal welfare and equine management. This distinctive combination of military training and veterinary education helps broaden the cadets’ knowledge and skills.
Col. (Dr.) J.P.S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, motivated the cadets to learn wholeheartedly during the camp and incorporate the lessons of discipline, service and responsibility into their daily lives. He emphasized that these qualities would help them become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to society.
Dr S.S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, said that every citizen serves the nation, whether in uniform or otherwise, and urged the cadets to adopt good habits and values that contribute to personal and national development.
The camp is being conducted with the support of NCC officers, Associate NCC Officers and Permanent Instructor staff.
