*Conspiracy to Criminalise Democratic Protests*
*Demands Apology from CM, Immediate Arrest of the Main Culprit in Murder of Dairy Farmer and Prosecution against all erroring Police Officers including SP*
SKM strongly condemned the Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Sahni for the brutal police lathi charge on farmers and villagers in Hansi on 15th August, Independence Day. The villagers were forced to protest because the BJP-led state government is protecting Ramesh Sharma, the main accused in the murder of Jeevan Kundu a dairy farmer on 4th August 2026. The deceased's funeral has not yet taken place, even after 12 days since the brutal murder, because the family and villagers are protesting the Haryana Police's failure to arrest the main culprit. The BJP-led state government is consciously protecting the culprit, a family relative of BJP MLA Devender Chaturbhuj Atri of Ujana Kalan.
The Police intentionally unleashed a brutal lathi charge on the peaceful assembly of villagers including many women farmers and even violated the Punjab- Haryana High Court order that police officers must wear uniforms while managing protests. Video clips reveal senior police officers in plain clothes snatching an AK-47 rifle to fire on the protesting people. The District Police Superintendent Binod Kumar is seen in photos pelting stones at villagers violating the police manual. Police did not spare farmers aged 85-90 years. A large number of farmers suffered injuries and bleeding but the police instigated violence instead of using minimum force. SKM demands the immediate suspension and prosecution, according to the law, of all responsible police officers, including the District Superintendent who violated the law.
SKM accuses the BJP-led state government of conspiring to criminalise the democratic protests of the people. SKM demands the unconditional release of all the ten farmer leaders including SKM NCC Member Suresh Koth, Haryana SCC leaders Sumit Singh Dalal, Shamsher Singh Nambradar under Judicial custody, Immediate arrest of the Ramesh Sharma, the main accused in the Jeevan Kundu murder case, and an apology from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the brutal lathi charge on farmers protesting for justice, compensation and employment to the victim family.
SKM calls upon farmers to stay away from all unwarranted and unjustifiable demands such as encounter the culprits and continue the massive, peaceful and militant struggle till all the demands are achieved including the arrest of prime accused.
