Member Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 34 newly selected Anganwari Helpers during a function held in Phagwara.

Congratulating the appointees, Dr Chabbewal stated that Anganwari Centres are the foundation of community welfare, providing essential services related to child health, nutrition, early childhood care and holistic development. He informed that Phagwara has 183 Anganwari Centres and that all sanctioned posts of Anganwari Workers in the constituency have now been filled.

Expressing confidence in the newly appointed employees, the MP said they would discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication and commitment while making a meaningful contribution to society and strengthening the delivery of welfare services at the grassroots level.

Highlighting the Punjab Government's employment initiatives, Dr Chabbewal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state has provided 68,228 government jobs since 2022 through a completely transparent and merit-based recruitment process. He said that unlike previous governments, which often initiated recruitment drives only at the end of their tenure, the present government has undertaken large-scale recruitment across various departments from the very beginning of its term. As a result of the transparent selection process, he added, Punjab's youth have regained confidence in government recruitment and are actively participating in competitive examinations.

Dr Chabbewal further said that the government's foremost objective is to ensure the welfare of every section of society through the effective implementation of people-centric policies.
