FEROZEPUR, August 4: AICC general secretary in charge for Punjab Bhupesh Baghel today said that only the Congress can ensure stability and security in the state. He said, after visiting ten districts across Punjab, he was confident and convinced that people of the state are determined to bring back Congress and throw out the Aam Aamdi Party government.
Addressing the ‘Harr booth, Congress Mazboot’ programme here today, he urged the entire rank and file of the party to ignore small differences of opinion in the interst of the state. He said, it is natural to have difference of opinion within the family. “When we have to fight a big battle, such differences are ignored”, he said, while expressing confidence that the Congress will emerge stronger and win the ensuing assembly elections.
Asserting that only the Congress can provide a stable government, which can ensure safety and security, he noted that the AAP government had pushed Punjab towards lawlessness and anarchy. He said, nobody was feeling safe in Punjab today, pointing out how gangsters were making ransom calls to people and anyone who dares to disobey is killed in broad daylight.
He said, the AAP has only given the mafia raj like the sand, land and mining mafia to the state. “We have to get rid of everything and ensure that the Congress comes to power”, he asserted.
Speaking on the occasion, the PCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring expressed gratitude to the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi for rewarding him with everything. He said, he had got too much at a young age and his only dream now was to see the Congress Chief Minister taking oath after the elections.
“I have got everything and now I wish and dream of sitting in front along with Rahul Gandhi and Bhupesh Baghel and watching the Congress Chief Minister and other ministers taking oath”, he said, adding, he has lived as a Congressman and will die as a Congressman only, come what may.
He also took a dig at Ravneet Singh Bittu for deserting the Congress and defecting to the BJP, saying, he stands nowhere today, while pointing out he got everything from the Congress.
The PCC president made it categorically clear that there will be no party tickets for those working in “sleeper cells” within the party to benefit the rivals. He said, while the tickets will be allocated by the high command, he will ensure that no one from these sleeper cells got a ticket. “Loyalty to the Congress is non-negotiable”, he asserted.
In a subtle, yet powerful, message to his detractors, both outside and inside the party, Warring played the popular ‘295’ song of famous singer and his friend late Sidhu Moosewala, “nitt controversy create milege, taraki karega hate miloogi”, with the audience cheering and singing along.
Lashing out at the AAP government and the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he said, they had drowned Punjab into drugs and debt. He asked Mann of his promise that foreign investors will invest in Punjab, pointing out how Punjabi youth were selling precious land to go abroad and then getting deported in a humiliating manner. He said, Punjab had slipped to twelfth place in terms of investments as nobody was prepared to invest in Punjab under the AAP rule.
Among those present included Ravi Dalvi, Hina Kawre, Sukhminder Danny, Kulbeer Zeera, Parminder Singh Pinky and others.
