Vet Varsity To Host Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat Pm Ke Saath On National Sports Day

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, is going to celebrate My Bharat – National Sports Day 2026 by organising a special “Khelo India Samvaad – Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” programme on August 27, 2026, at the Auditorium, College of Animal Biotechnology.

The programme aims to promote the spirit of sports, fitness, discipline and youth participation and to provide students an opportunity to connect with the national sporting movement.

Through this initiative, Vet Varsity seeks to inspire its students to embrace sports and fitness as an integral part of a healthy, disciplined and productive lifestyle, remarked Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor.

As part of the programme, a video conference with the Prime Minister will be telecasted live with two-way communication system, providing students and participants an opportunity to witness and engage with the larger national dialogue on sports and youth, informed Dr. Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator.

A special interaction with accomplished sportspersons and influencers has also been planned. Ms. Vani Puri, State Awardee and Senior National Medalist in Weightlifting, who is a two-time Junior National Champion and two-time Khelo India Champion, will address the gathering. The programme will also feature interaction with some social media Influencers, who will share their experiences and motivate the students towards sports, fitness and positive youth engagement.

Dr. J.S. Hundal, Director, Students’ Welfare, said that such programmes strengthen the university’s commitment towards promoting sports, student welfare and holistic development among the youth.
