*puducherry Lg Kailashnathan Commends Sikh Contributions, Nation-building Role At Khalsa Sajna Divas*

Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan joined the Sikh Sangat at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on Sunday to mark the auspicious occasion of Khalsa Sajna Divas and Vaisakhi. The event drew a large gathering of devotees from Puducherry, Chennai and nearby regions, creating an atmosphere of deep spiritual reflection and communal harmony.
Addressing the congregation, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the profound contribution of the Sikh qaum to the progress and development of the nation. He highlighted their rich legacy of sacrifice, service and commitment to national welfare. Praising the core Sikh principles of Seva and Langar, he described them as enduring examples of selfless service and social equality that continue to inspire society at large.
The Gurudwara management extended a warm welcome to the Lieutenant Governor and honoured him with traditional tokens of respect and spiritual heritage. He was presented with a Tamil translation of Japji Sahib, sacred hymns of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and a model of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. He was also presented with a Siropao, the traditional robe of honour, symbolising the deep respect of the Sikh community.
In a gesture reflecting humility and inclusiveness, the Lieutenant Governor also sat among the Sangat to partake in Guru ka Langar, reaffirming the egalitarian values upheld in Sikh tradition.
The Sikh sangat expressed sincere gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support and engagement with the Sikh community in the Union Territory.
On the occasion several prominent personalities were present including Harsaran Singh, General Secretary of Pondicherry Gurudwara Sahib, Rajinder Singh Bhasin, President of Guru Nanak College, Chennai, Surjit Singh Madaan, Director of United Sikhs Tamil Nadu, Jasbir Singh Bhasin, member of Bhai Mardana Ji Kirtani Jatha, Jasbir Singh Narula, Joint Secretary, Gurpartap Singh, Onkar Singh, Paramjit Singh Members of Sri Guru Nanak Satsang Sabha T. Nagar, Chennai.
