While urging the people of Punjab to strengthen the Punjab Congresss hand, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday asserted that the Congress is the only party in Punjab that has the potential to win all 13 seats in Punjab. Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that the ruling party in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party, has failed miserably to perform in its two-year regime. It not only reneged from its promises but also remained unsuccessful in streamlining the economy of the state and maintaining a law and order situation. Bajwa said that the AAP did not fulfil its promises made to farmers before and after the assembly elections in 2022. The people of Punjab have already got tired of the AAP in just two years and now they have decided to teach AAP a lesson. -Similarly, the SAD has already lost the trust of its core vote bank including farmers and Sikh panth (community). The SAD leadership including SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal first endorsed three contentious farm legislations. However, when it faced farmers ire in 2020 it snapped ties with the BJP-, Bajwa added. The opposition leader said that after the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in 2015, Akali Dal did not do justice. Protesting Sikhs had to face police brutality in 2015 in SADs regime. With all these incidents the Sikh Panth developed distance from SAD. -The BJP has already been facing a huge backlash in Punjab, particularly from the farmers as it failed to fulfil its promises to farmers to legalise the MSP on 23 crops. Moreover, it resorted to police brutality to suppress the farmers protests and Shambhu and Khanauri borders. The BJP is an anti-poor and anti-middle-class people government. It formed policies to make corporates richer-, Bajwa added. Bajwa said that it is only the Punjab Congress that has the potential to win all 13 seats in Punjab.
