The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday tore into the BJP over Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids in Punjab, stating that the agency returned empty-handed after searches at several locations. AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said the raids had failed to find anything and called out the BJP for using central agencies to target the Bhagwant Singh Mann government.

The senior AAP leader said the BJP must apologise to Punjab for attempting to harass its elected Chief Minister, asserting that Punjabis would not be intimidated by pressure from the CBI or Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Addressing a press conference, AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated, “The BJP’s CBI Wing arrived in Punjab with the impression that it would make some major recovery, but ultimately returned empty-handed. These raids were another attempt by the BJP to malign the Bhagwant Mann government, which is working for the welfare of Punjab and implementing initiatives that previous governments from 50 years have failed to deliver.”

The AAP Chief Spokesperson said, “The BJP had recently launched its so-called campaign against drugs in Punjab, bringing Union ministers and senior party leaders to the state and organising rallies with claims of massive public participation. They claimed that a huge gathering would take place in a 65-acre pandal and that one lakh people would attend Amit Shah’s rally in Jalandhar. Punjab saw what actually happened. The BJP could not win the support of Punjab’s people.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal continued, “The BJP’s political campaign received an even clearer response from Punjabis, who refused to turn up for its programmes. After failing to mobilise people through its rallies and yatra, the BJP has now resorted to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to create an atmosphere of intimidation in Punjab.”

He said, “Sometimes they put the ED in front and sometimes the CBI. This is their politics of pressure. The BJP has repeatedly misused these agencies against opposition parties in different parts of the country. The people of Punjab have seen this politics and they will not be intimidated by it.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal emphasised, “The BJP appeared to believe that Punjabis had forgotten the Kisan Andolan and the sacrifices of the 750 farmers who lost their lives during the agitation. Perhaps the BJP thought that after some time Punjabis would forget everything and embrace them again. But Punjab has given them a clear answer.”

The AAP MLA added, “Punjabis do not accept anyone trying to bend their arm through pressure or intimidation. Punjabis do not bow before anyone. Punjabis are not afraid of anyone. You cannot twist the arm of Punjab and expect Punjab to follow you. History is witness that whenever anyone has tried to oppress or loot Punjab, Punjabis have given a befitting reply.”

Drawing on the historical example of Alexander’s invasion, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated, “When Alexander came to Punjab, Porus stood up and stopped his horse. In 2027, the Aam Aadmi Party, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, will stop BJP’s unbridled horse in Punjab in the same way.”

He further stated, “The BJP has already tried bringing leaders from other political parties into its fold, including former Congress leaders, and has brought senior BJP leaders and Union ministers to Punjab, but none of these efforts have helped the party establish a political base among Punjabis.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “You brought leaders from other parties, you brought Prime Minister Modi, you brought Amit Shah and several Union ministers to Punjab, but nothing worked because Punjabis have not accepted the BJP’s politics. You cannot build a political base in Punjab through pressure and intimidation.”

He asserted, “The BJP’s recent political programmes in Punjab have demonstrated the disconnect between the party and the people. You came to Punjab and left empty-handed. Now the CBI has also come and gone empty-handed. You will come again and go back to Delhi with empty boxes because Punjabis are not going to give you their vote.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated, “The BJP’s latest actions are a direct attempt to malign the Bhagwant Mann government and the CM himself but they will not weaken his public support. People can see the work being done by the Chief Minister and the AAP government, including welfare initiatives for women and efforts to provide ownership rights to people living within the Lal Lakeer.”

The AAP MLA said, “The people of Punjab are standing with the Bhagwant Mann government because they can see its work on the ground. Wherever CM Bhagwant Singh Mann goes for ‘jansabha(s)’, thousands of people come to listen to him. This is the response of Punjab. On the other hand, BJP leaders are struggling to find people willing to listen to them.”

Strongly condemning the CBI action, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal stated, “The Aam Aadmi Party will neither be intimidated nor retreat from its work for Punjab. We strongly condemn the raids conducted in Dhuri and other places. We condemn attempts to target the Chief Minister’s Office and to implicate people in false cases to malign the party and the government.”

He added, “The Aam Aadmi Party stands with its Chief Minister like a rock. We neither fear anyone nor intimidate anyone. We will not be suppressed through the misuse of the CBI or ED.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “The BJP’s attempts to use central agencies as political weapons will ultimately fail in Punjab. The BJP may use whatever pressure it wants, but it cannot win the hearts of Punjabis through the CBI and ED. In 2027, the AAP will stop this unbridled BJP horse in Punjab and give the BJP such a political defeat that it will think twice before trying to misuse these agencies against anyone.”

He concluded by stating, “The matter was before the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court had also said that nothing would come of it and that it would hear the matter the next day. Yet they hurriedly carried out all this action. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has itself now proved our honesty by conducting raids at so many places and not finding a single penny anywhere.”

The AAP MLA asserted, “The BJP must apologise to the country. They must apologise to Punjab. They tried to insult Punjab’s elected Chief Minister and tried to harass him. They must apologise to the people of Punjab. They have proved themselves that the Aam Aadmi Party is ‘kattar imaandar'. They have proved that despite conducting raids, they found nothing.”
