Cbi Registers Fir Against Punjab Cm’s Osd And 5 Others, Conducts Searches At 8 Locations

Pursuant to the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and a report received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR to investigate allegations of corruption against the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Punjab Chief Minister and his associates.
The allegations relate to influencing and manipulating the postings of officers, including IAS and IPS officers, departmental proceedings, policy formulation, administrative approvals, tender conditions, licensing matters, Land Use Conversion (CLU) matters, property disputes, and revenue and land-related issues in exchange for monetary benefits.
The CBI has booked six persons, including public servants, middlemen and associates:
- Rajbir Ghuman, OSD to Chief Minister, Punjab
- Nitin Goyal
- Jitin Goyal alias Raja
- Romi Raja Mahajan
- Bir Devinder
- R.S. Nagra
- Unknown public servants and private persons have also been named.
The CBI has alleged that the accused public servants also accessed and shared drafts of government orders and policies with private persons before their official issuance.
Searches at 8 Locations
The CBI subsequently conducted coordinated searches at eight locations across Chandigarh, Mohali, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Patiala, Sangrur and Jalandhar at premises linked to the accused.
During the searches, laptops, mobile phones and documents were seized. These materials are being examined for evidence relating to alleged bribery and impropriety.
Further investigation in the case is in progress.
