In continuation of the state government’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, under Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma (IPS), executed a unified action plan combining high-value commercial narcotics seizures, intensive Cordon and Search Operations (CASO), community policing, and youth education.

1. Major Commercial Operations & Seizures

Under the supervision of DCP Investigation Harpal Singh, ADCP Investigation Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, and ACP Detective-2 Deep Karan Singh, specialized teams dismantled two major drug syndicates:

* Commercial Opium Syndicate Busted:

A Crime Branch team led by Inspector Navdeep Singh intercepted key smuggler Kunal Sharma alias Munna in the Jamalpur area.

* Seizures: 16.00 kg high-grade commercial opium, 01 Maruti Suzuki Baleno (PB 10 HK 3548), and 01 electronic scale.

* Legal Action: FIR No. 256 dated 06/10/2026 registered under Sections 18, 25-61-85 NDPS Act at PS Jamalpur.

* Interstate Heroin Syndicate Busted:

The Special Cell team under Inspector Harpreet Singh Dehal executed a precise raid in the Shimlapuri jurisdiction.

* Seizures: 3.134 kg commercial heroin, ₹1,05,000/- drug money, 04 electronic scales, and 80 packaging pouches.

* Legal Action: FIR No. 201 dated 05/10/2026 registered under Section 21C NDPS Act at PS Shimlapuri.

* Consolidated Major Recovery Summary:

* Commercial Heroin: 3.134 Kg

* Seized Drug Money: ₹1,05,000/-

2. Oct 07, 2026: Mega CASO in Sahnewal Hotspots

CP Swapan Sharma informed that on October 07, 2026, a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was conducted in drug hotspot areas—Jaspal Bangar and Hero Suman Nagar (PS Sahnewal).

The operation was jointly led by DCP Rural Gursewak Singh and DCP Investigation Harpal Singh, along with ADCP-2 Karanveer Singh, ADCP Investigation Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, ACP South, ACP Industrial Area-B, ACP Detective-1, Crime Wing teams, and all SHOs of Zone-2.

* Operation Impact: 42 suspects were detained for verification, leading to fresh narcotics recoveries and the registration of cases against 08 individuals across various police stations.

* De-Addiction Center Transfers: 02 Individuals

* Sampark Meeting at GRD Academy (Hambran Road): Local officers held an interactive public meeting with community members and school authorities to boost public cooperation, address local security issues, and reinforce real-time intelligence sharing.

* Saanjh Awareness Seminar at Govt. Sr. Sec. School (Ladhowal): The Saanjh Team conducted an interactive session educating students about the physical, mental, and legal consequences of drug abuse, urging them to stay focused on academics and sports.
