`punjab Rising’ Interaction Held In Support Of Sanjeev Arora’s Bypoll Campaign

Jun14,2025 | Jagrati Lahar Bureau | Ludhiana

AAP Punjab State President Aman Arora, along with other party leaders, participated in an ‘Interaction on Punjab Rising’ at the Community Center, Agar Nagar, B-Block, Ludhiana, on Friday late evening. The event was part of the ongoing election campaign of Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora for the Ludhiana (West) Assembly by-election.

During the interaction, Aman Arora said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has laid special emphasis on the health and education sectors, which were largely neglected by previous state governments. He added that the government is also focusing on employment generation, and over 60,000 jobs have already been provided across Punjab. In addition, various steps have been initiated to promote industrial growth.

The AAP State President categorically stated that earlier, under previous regimes, the state was clouded by an atmosphere of negativity. However, the AAP-led government has transformed that negativity into positivity. He clarified that while he wouldn’t claim the government has achieved 100% success yet, change is taking place.

In his address, Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, Rajya Sabha MP and Founder Chancellor of Lovely Professional University (LPU), praised Sanjeev Arora, calling him a progressive, dedicated, honest, and development-oriented leader. He said Arora has made significant contributions to Ludhiana's development and has regularly met central ministers to push for various local projects. Dr Mittal called Arora a role model and lauded his mission-driven approach to politics.

Dr Mittal further noted that Arora is setting a new trend in Indian politics. Applauding AAP policies, he said the party has given a platform to businessmen like him and Arora by nominating them to the Rajya Sabha—something no other political party had ever considered. He stressed that Arora's victory is essential, urging voters to ensure he wins with a thumping majority. “At least 70 percent of the polled votes should go to Arora,” he added, pointing out that the electorate would be choosing not just an MLA, but potentially a future Cabinet Minister.

Punjab Ministers Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Harjot Singh Bains, MP Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, MLA Daljit Singh Grewal, and Nitin Koli, Rajesh Garg, JR Singal, and Gagan Khanna were also present. The event was jointly organized by the Singal Family (Eastman Group) and the New High School Alumni Association. A question-and-answer session was also held during the interaction.
