In another major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against international criminal syndicates, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, in a joint operation with Counter Intelligence, has achieved significant success.
Following up on the terror-gangster module busted on May 17, police teams have arrested two more highly dangerous operatives and recovered military-grade explosives, *thereby averting a major terrorist incident in Punjab.*
Swapan Sharma, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, stated that senior investigative officers from the CIA Staff and Counter Intelligence, through their professional investigation, successfully foiled a major catastrophic event.
*Initial Breakthrough (May 17, 2026)*
This network was initially exposed on May 17 when a joint police party foiled a targeted shooting conspiracy near Hardy’s World, falling under the jurisdiction of *Police Station Ladowal*. Two operatives—*Anuraj alias Gaurav Masih* and *Ankush* (both residents of Phillaur)—were arrested with *03 pistols and 11 live cartridges*.
During interrogation, it was revealed that they were operating at the behest of foreign-based handlers:
* *Zorawar Singh* (Germany)
* *Sahil Sondhi alias Chunj* (Dubai)
* *Lakha* (Germany)
They were tasked with executing high-profile targeted killings.
Consequently, *FIR No. 91* was registered under the Arms Act and Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
*Current Success: New Arrests and Explosives Recovered*
During relentless and aggressive follow-up investigations, the police teams traced the explosives wing of this module, leading to the arrest of two key operatives from the Majha region:
1. *Karandeep Singh alias Karan*, son of Baldev Singh, resident of Village Khairdin Ke, PS Jhabal, Tarn Taran. *(He is a professional criminal with prior cases registered against him for attempt to murder, Arms Act, and NDPS smuggling).*
2. *Baljeet Singh alias Sanju*, son of Balwinder Singh, resident of Mohalla Purani Basti, PS Roopala (Ramdas), Amritsar.
*Note:* These two accused were brought into contact with the module by another foreign-based handler, *Akashdeep @ Golden* (Malaysia), a resident of Village Khaira Dinke, PS Jhabal, Tarn Taran.

Following this recovery, stringent sections *3, 4, and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act* along with *Section 317(2) of the BNS* have been added to FIR No. 91.

* *FIR No. 75/2021 (PS Jhabal):* Under Sections 307 (Attempt to Murder), 353, 186, 148, 149 of the IPC and 21/29 of the NDPS Act.

*Investigation Status*
With the previous recovery of weapons and the current seizure of 02 live hand grenades, the Ludhiana Police has successfully dismantled both the shooting module and the explosives logistics chain (supply line) of this foreign-based syndicate. A meticulous forward-and-backward linkage investigation is underway to identify and completely eradicate the remaining local contacts of this network.
