Taking Punjab’s UAE investment outreach to the next level, Industries & Commerce Minister Mr. Aman Arora held strategic talks with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) in Sharjah to forge deeper trade, investment and industrial partnerships between Punjab and the UAE.

The discussions centred on strengthening business-to-businesses (B2B) linkages and establishing a structured framework to help enterprises from Punjab and Sharjah identify partners, forge joint ventures, expand exports and build long-term, mutually beneficial commercial ties.

As a key outcome, the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) and Invest Punjab agreed to intensify industry-to-industry engagement. Invest Punjab will facilitate linkages between Sharjah-based manufacturers, exporters and service providers with suitable Punjab enterprises, while also handholding Punjab companies seeking to explore business and market opportunities in the UAE, said Mr. Aman Arora.

The Industries Minister showcased Punjab’s robust industrial base, vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and strategic location in North India. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led state government has taken decisive reforms to make Punjab one of India’s most preferred investment destinations by simplifying regulations, enhancing ease of doing business and providing end-to-end professional facilitation to investors.

Mr. Aman Arora said that Punjab is looking to move beyond conventional investment promotion to foster two-way business partnerships, enabling companies from both regions to collaborate across manufacturing, exports, services, technology and other emerging sectors. He invited the Sharjah business community to visit Punjab, engage with Invest Punjab and explore opportunities across the state’s diverse and fast-growing industrial ecosystem.

The discussions particularly recognised the strategic opportunity arising from the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the UAE’s expanding network of trade agreements with global markets. It was observed that stronger Punjab-UAE business linkages could not only accelerate bilateral trade but also enable Punjab-based manufacturers and exporters to use the UAE as a gateway for accessing new markets across the Middle East and other international destinations, he added.

The interaction also underscored Sharjah’s formidable industrial ecosystem, comprising over 3,000 manufacturing units, seven free zones and 18 industrial zones, which offers a strong foundation for building strategic business partnerships with Punjab.

The CEO of Invest Punjab Mr. Amit Dhaka made a presentation showcasing the state’s investment opportunities, progressive industrial policies and major Ease of Doing Business reforms. He also highlighted the unique facilitation model of Invest Punjab, which provides investors a single point of contact for regulatory clearances, investment facilitation and aftercare, supported by the technology-driven FastTrack Punjab portal.

This initiative is expected to serve as a platform for business matchmaking, trade partnerships, joint ventures and enhanced market access, besides deepening Punjab’s economic engagement with the UAE and enabling its enterprises to integrate more actively into global value chains, he added.
