Punjab Youth Get A Direct Road To The Prime Minister: Viksit Bharat Quiz Open Till 30 September

MY Bharat Punjab today appealed to young people across the state to register on mybharat.gov.in and attempt the Viksit Bharat Quiz, the opening stage of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027. The quiz is open till 30 September 2026.

Briefing the media at Press Club, Chandigarh, Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, State Director (i/c), MY Bharat Punjab, said the quiz is the entry point to a five-stage, entirely merit-based journey that ends with selected youth presenting their ideas before the Hon’ble Prime Minister in New Delhi in January 2027.

VBYLD 2027 is organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, with MY Bharat as the executing agency. The National Youth Festival, held since 1995, was restructured in 2025 into the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue to align with the Viksit Bharat @2047 mission. In the previous edition, over 50 lakh young Indians attempted the quiz and about 3,000 were selected for the national dialogue.

Who can take part

Any young person aged 15 to 29 years. Registration and all digital rounds are free and hosted on the MY Bharat portal, in multiple languages. Youth already registered on the portal need not register again — they can attempt the quiz directly.

Punjab’s theme for 2027

For this edition, the Ministry has moved from national themes to ten regional clusters. Punjab is part of the National Capital Region (Niti Nagar) cluster along with Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, with the theme “Future Governance, Urban Transformation and Citizen Services.” Participants will answer the guiding question: how can India build the world’s most efficient, transparent and citizen-centric governance ecosystem by 2047? District-level topics will apply this theme specifically to Punjab.

The road ahead

● Viksit Bharat Quiz (digital) — open till 30 September 2026 on the MY Bharat portal

● Viksit Bharat Essay (digital) — 500-word essay by shortlisted participants, as notified on the portal

● District Championship (in person) — November 2026; top 50 essays per district present, top two per district advance

● State VBYLD (in person) — November–December 2026 at the state headquarters

● National Dialogue — New Delhi, 10 to 12 January 2027, before Union Ministers, Secretaries and the Hon’ble Prime Minister

Six tracks, not one

Alongside the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track, VBYLD 2027 runs five more tracks: Cultural (folk dance, folk song, painting, declamation, poetry writing), Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, the newly introduced Youth.

“This is not a talent show. It is a talent search for the young people who will run this country’s institutions in 2047. Every district of Punjab has such young people, and our only job is to make sure not one of them misses the date,” said Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, State Director (i/c), MY Bharat Punjab.
