Punjab BJP President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has welcomed the launch of the new 'Easy Connect' air service from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Sri Amritsar Sahib, introduced by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu for this landmark initiative.

Dhillon said that the service, launched by Air India under the Central Government's Hub-and-Spoke model, will provide immense relief and convenience to thousands of passengers from Punjab as well as the global NRI community. Travellers departing from Amritsar will now enjoy seamless onward connectivity via Delhi to 27 major international destinations, including Toronto and Vancouver (Canada), New York, Chicago and San Francisco (USA), London and Birmingham (United Kingdom), Melbourne and Sydney (Australia), besides several destinations across Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including Dubai, without the inconvenience of multiple airport formalities.

Dhillon said that millions of Punjabis live abroad and continue to share an inseparable bond with their families, villages and homeland. They frequently travel to Punjab to attend family functions, festivals and important personal occasions. Until now, long immigration queues at Delhi Airport, repeated baggage checks and the need to change terminals caused considerable hardship, particularly for senior citizens, women and children. With the introduction of the Easy Connect facility, travel for NRIs and their families will become significantly smoother, faster and more comfortable.

He said that the Modi Government has consistently taken decisions in the interest of Punjab, Punjabiyat and Punjabis. This major initiative is yet another example of the Centre's commitment and has won the hearts of the people of Punjab.

Dhillon highlighted that the biggest advantage of the new service is that passengers will be able to complete their immigration and full check-in formalities at Amritsar itself. Upon arrival in Delhi, they will not have to change terminals or undergo baggage re-check procedures before boarding their international flights.

Kewal Singh Dhillon added that this initiative will not only save valuable time for NRIs and international travellers but will also provide a major boost to tourism, trade and cultural exchange in Punjab.
