Green Land School Celebrated No Bag Day With Great Enthusiasm

Green Land Convent School, Civil City celebrated No Bag Day on 30th July, 2026 with great
enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The day was observed with the theme “Learn, Reflect & Grow
Together” to provide students of Classes III to VIII an opportunity to learn beyond textbooks through
experiential and joyful activities. The school campus buzzed with energy, curiosity, and creativity as
students participated wholeheartedly in a variety of engaging sessions.
Students from classes III to V began the day with a Zumba and Yoga session to energize their mind
and body. They then indulged in Storybook Reading to build vocabulary, followed by a creative
Origami Activity using newspapers and coloured chart papers. A special Podcast Session on India’s
Independence and freedom fighters and a Documentary Screening on the life and sacrifices of
Shaheed Udham Singh instilled a deep sense of patriotism. The day concluded with Indoor Games
and Reflection Time, where students wrote about their experiences and learnings.
Students from classes VI to VIII participated in Newspaper Reading, noting down unfamiliar words
and their meanings. This was followed by a Podcast Session on the Independence Movement and a
Reflection Activity where students shared their thoughts on contributing to the nation as responsible
citizens. They also enjoyed Indoor Games to enhance cooperation and team spirit. The senior students
engaged in Computational Thinking activities to develop logical problem-solving skills. The day
ended with a Documentary Screening on Shaheed Udham Singh, followed by a discussion on his
bravery and patriotism.
The purpose of this event was to promote holistic development, critical thinking, teamwork, and love
for the nation while moving away from the routine of books and bags.
Chairman of the series of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra addressed the students and said that
education is not limited to classrooms and textbooks. He added that No Bag Day gives children the
freedom to explore, reflect, and understand the values of discipline, creativity, and patriotism. He
further said that learning about the sacrifices of our heroes like Shaheed Udham Singh reminds us that
freedom is earned through courage and dedication. He congratulated the students, teachers, and staff
for making No Bag Day a grand success and appreciated the school’s efforts towards value-based and
experiential learning.
Director of Green Land Schools, Dr. Vijayata Rudhra congratulated everyone on the successful
celebration of No Bag Day. She urged students to remain curious, disciplined, and responsible citizens
of the country. She said that such activities help in building confidence, creativity, and compassion
among children. She further highlighted that by remembering our freedom fighters and developing
21st century skills like computational thinking, students are preparing themselves to contribute
meaningfully to society and the nation. She also delivered an inspirational speech aligning the
activities with the school’s mission of holistic and value-based education.
Ms. Ritu Malhotra, Principal of the school, extended her warm wishes and said that No Bag Day
provides a wonderful platform for students to learn with joy, express themselves freely, and reflect on
their role in nation-building. She said that activities like podcasts, documentaries, games, and
reflection help students connect with their culture, develop life skills, and grow as thoughtful
individuals. She thanked the students, teachers, and staff for their active participation and teamwork,
and encouraged everyone to continue embracing such innovative learning experiences.
