Continuing its sustained campaign against organized crime and anti-social elements, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police today carried out Operation Prahar 3 under the supervision of Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Sh. Swapan Sharma, IPS. The operation was conducted across the Commissionerate with a focused objective of targeting criminals, absconders, drug traffickers, and other anti-social elements.
The Commissioner of Police personally supervised the operation by visiting the field, inspecting the ongoing raids, and checking naka points established at strategic locations across the city to ensure effective implementation and operational readiness.
During the operation, police teams conducted 166 raids, resulting in the registration of 44 FIRs. A total of *132 persons were rounded up, 106 accused were arrested, 62 persons were detained under preventive action, and 3 Proclaimed Offenders were arrested*.
The operation also led to the recovery of *102.45 grams of heroin, 19 kilograms of ganja*, 135 intoxicant tablets, *2 weapons, 2 live cartridges*, 15 motorcycles, 3 mobile phones, 43 boxes/bottles of liquor, 2 litres of illicit liquor, 2 pouches of illicit liquor, and 4 iron keys.

Swapan Sharma, IPS, reiterated that Ludhiana Police remains committed to maintaining public safety and ensuring that criminal elements find no safe haven in the city. He emphasized that such intelligence-led enforcement drives will continue with zero tolerance towards organized crime, drug trafficking, and other anti-social activities.
