LUDHIANA, March 30: The Punjab Handball Association (PHA) marked a historic return for the sport with the successful conclusion of the 43rd Junior and 45th Senior (Boys & Girls) State Handball Championship at Kirpal Sagar Academy (KSA).
This edition ended a five-year hiatus since 2020, revitalizing the state's handball circuit.
The championship kicked off on March 26 with a vibrant opening ceremony.
PHA President, Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu, officially declared the games open, urging the athletes to play with "true sportsmanship and renewed vigor."
In his address, Captain Sandhu stated, "This tournament is not just a competition, but a restart for Punjab's handball legacy. Our goal is to identify and nurture talent that will represent India on the international stage."
Organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Karamjit Singh Virk (President, KSA & Unity of Man), the four-day event saw intense competition across all categories. During the closing award ceremony,
PHA General Secretary Mr. Sukhbir Singh Dhaliwal and Rajesh Thakur DSP presented medals to the winners, thanking the district units for their timely participation .

* Senior Men: 1st SAS Nagar, 2nd Ludhiana, 3rd Amritsar
* Senior Women: 1st Hoshiarpur, 2nd Ludhiana, 3rd Amritsar
* Junior Boys: 1st Ludhiana, 2nd Ropar, 3rd Muktsar
* Junior Girls: 1st Hoshiarpur, 2nd Ropar, 3rd Ludhiana
