Deputy Commissioner Shri Himanshu Jain today officially released the poster and IEC material for the upcoming National Deworming Day (NDD) in a meeting held under his chairmanship at Ludhiana. The meeting was attended by Dr. Harpreet Singh, District Immunization Officer (DIO), all Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) teams and health department officials.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure the successful implementation of National Deworming Day. He appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Health Department and directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to achieve 100 percent coverage of eligible children during the campaign.
During the meeting, it was decided that under Mission Swasth Kavach, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring training will be imparted to school children. RBSK teams, in collaboration with school teachers, will train students in basic life support techniques and health monitoring, helping them develop life-saving skills and healthy practices from an early age.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also launched the IEC (Information, Education and Communication) material for the upcoming National Deworming Day. Posters, pamphlets, banners and social media creatives highlighting the benefits of Albendazole tablets and the campaign dates—August 10 (National Deworming Day) and August 17 (Mop-up Day)—were unveiled. These awareness materials will be displayed in schools, Anganwadi Centres, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and other public places across the district to educate parents and children in the 1–19 years age group.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harpreet Singh, District Immunization Officer, instructed all RBSK teams and health staff to ensure effective implementation of the CPR and BP monitoring initiative in schools and to make optimum use of the IEC material for community mobilization. He urged all field staff to work proactively so that every eligible child receives the benefits of the National Deworming Day campaign.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all departments to work together for the successful implementation of the National Deworming Day programme and other child health initiatives in Ludhiana district.
