3 Crore Punjabis Are One Family, Our Employees Are Equally Important Part Of It; Appeal To Employees To End Strike & Resume Work: Aman Arora

CHANDIGARH; 8th September 2026:

Industries and Commerce Minister Aman Arora today said that the Bhagwant Mann Government stands firmly with its employees and remains committed to considering and fulfilling every legitimate demand. He said the three crore Punjabis and Punjab Government employees are part of the same family, and the government’s objective is to resolve all genuine concerns through dialogue, mutual understanding and a positive approach.

In a statement, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said, “For us, the three crore Punjabis are one family, and our employees are an equally important part of this family. We understand their concerns and respect their contribution to Punjab. Our government is committed to considering every legitimate demand of our employees and working sincerely towards resolving their issues.”

He appealed to employee organisations to end the ongoing strike and resume their duties so that the people of Punjab do not face inconvenience. “I appeal to our employees to end the strike and return to work. The people of Punjab should not face any difficulty because of issues that can and should be resolved through dialogue. We are ready to sit with our employees, listen to their concerns and find a constructive way forward,” he said.

Aman Arora said the government has already taken concrete steps towards addressing the concerns of employees. “For around 85,000 employees recruited after July 17, 2020, we have already decided to provide DA at 60%, bringing their DA at par with the Central Government rate,” he said.

The Minister said the broader DA and arrears matter is already before the Supreme Court and the government will abide by the decision of the apex court. “The matter is before the Supreme Court, and we will respect the decision of the Court. At the same time, our doors remain open for dialogue with our employees. We believe that every genuine concern can be resolved through mutual understanding,” he said.

Minister Aman Arora said Punjab’s employees are the backbone of the State’s governance and development. “We have immense respect for our employees and their contribution. The government and its employees are on the same side. Our shared responsibility is to serve Punjab and its people, and I am confident that together we can resolve the outstanding concerns without allowing the people of Punjab to face inconvenience,” he said.
