Punjab BJP to Launch Statewide 'Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan' on July 29 (Guru Purnima) to Mark 650th Birth Anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji

Campaign till February 20, 2027 to feature Deep Mahotsav, Kalash Vandan, Sant Sampark, Samrasta Yatra and student outreach programmes across Punjab

Punjab BJP President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon today announced that from tomorrow (July 29), on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, the Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab will launch the statewide implementation of the 'Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan' to commemorate the 650th Birth Anniversary Year of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj. The nationwide campaign, to be observed from July 29, 2026 (Guru Purnima) to February 20, 2027 (Magha Purnima) under the guidance of the BJP National Leadership, aims to spread Guru Ravidas Ji's timeless message of equality, dignity, social harmony and social justice across Punjab.

Dhillon said that the campaign will commence tomorrow on 29th of July with the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Deep Mahotsav, during which lamps will be lit at Guru Ravidas temples across Punjab, accompanied by bhajans, religious discourses, cultural programmes and community langars. This will be followed by the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Kalash Vandan Abhiyan from July 29 to September 10, under which a sacred Kalash carrying holy soil from Guru Ravidas Ji's Janmasthali at Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi, will be ceremonially received and taken across Punjab before being respectfully handed over to Guru Ravidas temples.

Dhillon said the campaign will also include the Sant Sampark Abhiyan from July 29 to August 31, during which BJP leaders and karyakartas will seek the blessings of saints associated with the Guru Ravidas tradition. The Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Yatra, from October 5 to November 5, will carry Guru Ravidas Ji's message of equality, social harmony and national unity from Dera Sach Khand Ballan, Jalandhar, to Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi. This will be followed by the Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Chhatrawas Sampark Abhiyan from November 26, 2026, to January 15, 2027, featuring Samrasta Samvaad programmes in hostels to acquaint students with Guru Ravidas Ji's teachings and the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

To ensure the effective implementation of the 'Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan' across Punjab, Punjab BJP President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon has already constituted a State-Level Committee under the convenorship of Dr. Jagmohan Singh Raju, IAS (Retd.) and General Secretary, BJP Punjab. The committee comprises former MLAs Avinash Chander, Sheetal Angural and Ravi Inder Kahlon, retired IAS officer S.R. Ladhar, Smt. Renu Kashyap and Shri Bhanu Partap as members.
