Sultanpur Lodhi has achieved 100% digitisation of Enumeration Forms (EFs) under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, emerging as one of the best-performing assembly constituencies in Kapurthala district.
As per the status as on July 25, 2026, all 1,46,682 electors in the constituency have been fully accounted for. Of these, 1,33,066 Enumeration Forms have been successfully digitised, while the remaining 13,616 electors have been duly classified as uncollectable owing to reasons such as death, permanent migration, enrolment at another location, untraceability, prolonged absence or other valid categories. With this, digitisation has been completed in all 195 polling booths of the constituency, leaving no part pending.
Congratulating the entire Election Management Team, SDM-cum-Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Jasjit Singh credited the dedication and tireless efforts of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Assistant BLOs, Supervisors and all associated with the exercise. He made special mention of Gurwinder Singh, who was entrusted by the Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala, with supervising the SIR work at the SDM Office and coordinated the entire exercise with remarkable commitment.
"The achievement belongs to every member of the team who worked relentlessly on the ground. BLOs conducted repeated door-to-door visits, supervisors monitored progress booth-wise, computer operators worked tirelessly to digitise every form, while the Calling Team remained in constant touch with electors to ensure that no eligible voter was left behind," the SDM added. He stated the accomplishment was the result of meticulous planning, continuous monitoring and sustained teamwork over several weeks. Pendency was reviewed on a booth-wise basis every day, often multiple times a day, enabling prompt follow-up wherever forms remained uncollected or undigitised. The Calling Team regularly contacted electors to facilitate timely submission of forms and resolve their queries.
Jasjit Singh also spoke about the support extended by Anganwadi workers, Sarpanches, Municipal Councillors and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) nominated by various political parties, whose local outreach greatly helped in verifying electors and completing the exercise. He noted that the teams faced several challenges, including tracing migrant families, contacting electors residing outside the state and verifying records of deceased or untraceable voters.
The SDM expressed gratitude to Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Anindita Mitra and Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Akash Bansal for their constant guidance and support throughout the exercise. He also acknowledged the contribution of former SDM Amanpal Singh, whose groundwork and guidance provided a strong foundation for achieving this milestone.
Appealing to the public to actively participate in the next phase of the revision, SDM Jasjit Singh said that although every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, the exercise involves large-scale human intervention and inadvertent errors may still occur. He urged electors to carefully examine the Additional/Absentee, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) list and immediately report any incorrect inclusion of their own name or that of any family member or acquaintance to the concerned BLO, Supervisor or the SDM Office, Sultanpur Lodhi, for necessary correction.
To facilitate public verification, the ASDD list will be displayed at all Panchayat Ghars, Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) offices, Nagar Council offices and Anganwadi Centres across the constituency. The list will also be available for download from the official website of the District Administration, Kapurthala, and has been shared with all recognised political parties for scrutiny and feedback.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Akash Bansal congratulated the entire Election Management Team on this significant achievement, stating that the successful completion of 100% digitisation of Enumeration Forms in Sultanpur Lodhi shows the dedication, discipline and coordinated efforts of every official involved. He expressed confidence that the team's exemplary performance would serve as a benchmark for the successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision across the district.
