CM Bhagwant Mann Immediately Heard Our Concerns and Delivered Relief to Dairy Farmers: PDFA President Daljit Gill Thanked AAP Govt

Reaffirming the Punjab Government's commitment to standing firmly with farmers and addressing their concerns through dialogue, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday held a meeting with a delegation of the Progressive Dairy Farmers' Association (PDFA), led by its President Daljit Singh Gill Sadarpura, along with members of its Executive Committee and Core Committee.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the severe challenges being faced by dairy farmers due to the steep increase in cattle feed prices and other input costs. They explained that the cost of milk production has risen sharply, pushing the dairy sector into a serious financial crisis and making it increasingly difficult for farmers to sustain their livelihood.
Taking immediate cognisance of the issue, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accepted the farmers' genuine demand and announced an increase of ₹40 per kilogram of fat in the milk procurement rate. The revised rate will be implemented with effect from July 21, providing significant financial relief to thousands of dairy farmers across Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is committed to protecting the interests of every section associated with agriculture. He added that unlike previous governments, which forced farmers to wait for months for meetings and solutions, the Mann Government believes in maintaining direct communication with stakeholders and resolving their issues promptly.
The PDFA delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for giving them a patient hearing and taking an immediate decision in favour of dairy farmers. The association said the increase in the procurement rate would provide much-needed relief to dairy farmers struggling with rising production costs and would strengthen Punjab's dairy sector.
The delegation also appreciated the Punjab Government's farmer-friendly approach and its willingness to engage directly with farming communities to resolve their concerns through meaningful dialogue.
