*Initiative aims to foster a clean, green, and pollution-free Ludhiana*
MLA Madan Lal Bagga kicked off a major cleanliness drive on Friday to make Ludhiana North constituency cleaner and more beautiful. The campaign started at Jalandhar Bypass Chowk and covered areas up to Chand Cinema Bridge.
Leading by example, Bagga joined Municipal Corporation (MC) workers, sweeping the roads and listening to feedback from the sweepers. He and senior MC officials stayed on-site for over two hours to oversee the effort. He stated that the campaign will clear garbage, weeds, and shrubs from all wards and roadsides in the constituency. A clear duty schedule has been set for MC staff to keep public spaces clean and attractive. “With Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s guidance, the Punjab government is working tirelessly to create a clean, green, and pollution-free Ludhiana,” Bagga said, highlighting the campaign’s importance.
To ensure garbage collection runs smoothly, Bagga urged residents to call him directly at 94172-01818 if door-to-door garbage vehicles skip their area. He stressed that keeping Ludhiana clean is everyone’s job, saying, “Every resident, especially the youth, must help make our city clean and green.”
To spread this message, the campaign will include awareness programs and pledge events to encourage eco-friendly habits like avoiding plastic bags and sorting waste properly.
Bagga also instructed officials to educate people about proper waste management, particularly the use of green bins for wet waste, to streamline waste processing and promote sustainability. He stated that this multifaceted initiative reflects government's commitment to sustainable urban development setting a model for other constituencies to follow.
