Under Phase-I of Census 2027 — comprising the House Listing Operation (HLO) and Housing Census — field work has commenced across the district from May 15 and will continue till June 13, 2026.
During this period, Enumerators and Supervisors will conduct door-to-door visits to collect Census-related information from residents.
In the first phase, from May 15 to May 18, enumerators will prepare notional maps (Nazri Naksha) for their allotted House Listing Blocks (HLBs). Thereafter, from May 19 onwards, the House Listing Operations will begin, during which details related to housing conditions, household assets, and basic amenities will be gathered.
The ongoing field operations were inspected by Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Census Officer Poonam Singh Poonam Singh. During the inspection, Enumerators and Supervisors were directed to carry out the exercise diligently and efficiently while strictly adhering to Census guidelines and procedures.
Officials were also advised to take necessary precautions amid the prevailing heatwave conditions and to preferably conduct field work during morning and evening hours for safety.
Additionally, field staff were encouraged to motivate residents to cooperate fully with the Census process to ensure the collection of accurate and quality data. The progress and quality of the operations were also reviewed to ensure the smooth, effective, and timely completion of Census 2027 activities in the district.
