‘Slogans of Baba Saheb Will Not Be Accepted by Hindustan’: Protest Sparks Outrage
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Ludhiana unit, led by MLA Chaudhary Madan Lal Bagga and MLA Jeevan Singh Sangowal, staged a massive protest at Jalandhar Bypass Chowk against the controversial statement made by Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament regarding Dr. Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji. During the protest, effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were burned. A memorandum was later submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana addressed to the President of India, demanding the immediate removal of Amit Shah from the position of Home Minister.
The protest was led by Ludhiana Finance and Planning Committee Chairman and AAP District Ludhiana President Sharanpal Singh Makkar, who strongly condemned the statement and called for strict action. He stated, “Amit Shah’s remarks against Baba Saheb are an insult to the nation’s Constitution and the vision of equality and justice that Ambedkar stood for. If Amit Shah does not apologize, we will intensify our struggle across Punjab.”
The protest also saw active participation from S.C. Wing State Secretary Balor Singh, Vijay Danav, Harnek Singh Sekho, Suresh Goyal, Gurdarshan Singh Kuli, Gurjit Singh Gill, Master Hari Singh, and several other leaders and volunteers.
Key participants included Jaswinder Singh Jassi (PA to MLA Gill), Davinder Pal Singh Ladi, Ravi Jhamat, Sahibjit Singh Sabi, Sonu Gill, Jagdeep Deol, Aditya Jain, Vicky Balloki, Amarinder Bulara, Shinda Lehra, Surinder Saini, Manpreet Mani, Mohan Lal Sharma, Narinder Bhatia, Gurvinder Singh Toor, Sukhjeevan Singh Mohi, Neelu Ayali, Ashwini Kaushal, Vinay Malhotra, Happy Rahat, Mehak Singh Chauhan, Banwari, Sanjeev Vegra, Baba Sarpanch, Balwinder Maka, Puneet Sahni, and hundreds of AAP volunteers.
The Aam Aadmi Party has vowed to continue its protests until Amit Shah issues a public apology and resigns from his position.
