The Red Ribbon club of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar observed the World Aids day with ‘Take the Right Path’ theme under the aegis of Punjab State AIDS control society and Youth Services Jalandhar.
HIV Awareness Seminar was organised at the adopted village, Lohar Sukha Singh. All the Red Ribbon club members wore red ribbons, made descriptive posters and charts depicting the helpline numbers to help people get treatment of HIV. RRC member, Golda explained the difference between HIV and AIDS to the villagers. RRC member, Neha further explained how AIDS is transmitted, its prevention and ways to deal with it. A quiz on ‘Take the right path’ theme was conducted by RRC Incharge Tarunjyoti Kaur. The message given through this quiz was to practice yoga or do some exercise daily, leave bad company if any and to fight against the stigma attached to HIV with cooperation and will power. Personal hygiene kits were given to the winners. Gifts were also distributed to the children in the village by the RRC.
