Samvedna Trust today donated an Advance Life Support (ALS) ambulance to the district, equipped with a ventilator and ECG machine, to further strengthen emergency medical response services.
On the same occasion, the Trust also handed over a high-tech mortuary at Civil Hospital, which now has a total capacity of 92 bodies. The new mortuary contains 48 shelves, while the old mortuary contains 42 shelves and 2 deep freezers, taking the overall capacity to 92.
The mortuary was inaugurated by Director Health Services Dr. Hitinder Kaur, along with Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Kaur. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kaur appreciated the generous contribution of Samvedna Trust and said such initiatives play a vital role in improving patient care, emergency transport and dignified mortuary services in the district. She said the new ALS ambulance would help save precious lives by ensuring advanced care during transit, while the upgraded mortuary facility would provide much-needed support to the hospital system.

Following the inauguration, a formal function was held in which the staff of Civil Hospital was honoured by the Director Health Services for their dedicated service and commitment to duty.
Dr. Hitinder Kaur said the Health Department values the continuous support of philanthropists and social organisations, and added that such partnerships between public institutions and community stakeholders help create a stronger and more responsive healthcare system.
