*Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana provides Rs 10 lakh free treatment*
##
*Ludhiana, March 2*- In the grip of sudden health emergencies, countless Punjab families once lived in dread of crippling medical bills that could push them into financial ruin. But thanks to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's visionary Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) — launched on January 22, 2026, as a historic step toward universal healthcare — every resident now accesses cashless, high-quality treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year, with no income limits or exclusions.
Varun Sharma (40), a resident of BRS Nagar, Ludhiana, was struck by a severe blood infection and related complications after falling ill for several days. Doctors advised hospitalization, leaving him deeply anxious as the sole breadwinner for his family.
“I was completely shattered thinking about how I would manage the huge expenses,” Sharma recalled but enrolling promptly in the scheme turned his situation around. He received complete cashless treatment at the empanelled Shree Raghunath Hospital.
“Not a single rupee came out of my pocket,” he stated and added that he has now fully recovered, back at my job, and feeling healthy again. He sincerely thanked the Punjab government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for launching Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana as it has truly saved families like mine from ruin.
Similarly, Rahul Rana (26) from Chuharpur Road, Haibowal Kalan shared his positive experience. Last week, he underwent successful surgery for kidney stones at the empanelled Varun Singla Hospital, with a two-day hospital stay. He said that he didn’t spend even one penny on the entire procedure and thanked enrolment in Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana as he got quality care without any burden.
"I am deeply grateful to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for this life-changing scheme", Rana added.
These stories demonstrate the transformative power of Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, a universal scheme covering over 2,500 medical procedures — including surgeries, ICU care, diagnostics, and more — at hundreds of empanelled hospitals (government and private) across Punjab and beyond. With no income criteria and simple enrolment via Aadhaar and Voter ID at Common Service Centres, the scheme ensures every Punjabi family can access healthcare without choosing between health and financial security.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain urged the people to enrol themselves under the scheme. He also directed all relevant departments to prioritize awareness and registration drives
*MMSY*
Launched on January 22, MMSY marks a historic first in India, offering comprehensive coverage with no income limits, ensuring that no Punjabi family faces catastrophic out-of-pocket expenses during medical emergencies.
Coverage Amount: Up to Rs 10 lakh per family per year for cashless treatment.
-Cashless & Paperless Process: Beneficiaries receive treatment without any upfront payments at empanelled government hospitals, private hospitals, and specialized centres (over 800+ facilities, including in Punjab and select out-of-state options).
Universal Eligibility: Open to all bona fide residents of Punjab — verified via Aadhaar card and Punjab Voter ID (or guardian's documents for minors). This includes government employees, pensioners, contractual/outsourced staff, farmers, labourers, and all socio-economic groups.
Sehat Card: Linked to Aadhaar for seamless access to benefits.
To ensure maximum reach and ease of access, the state government has recently simplified the enrolment process. Residents can now register on-the-spot at any Common Service Centre (CSC) or designated camp using just Aadhaar and Voter ID — no appointment slips or intermediaries required. Bureaucratic hurdles have been removed, and performance incentives are in place for CSC operators to drive saturation.
