Ludhiana's medical community united on Sunday, March 16th, to champion the FIT India #fightobesity campaign. In collaboration with the Sports Authority of India, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ludhiana led a powerful initiative, demonstrating widespread support for Prime Minister Modi's vision of a healthier India.
Dr Manoj Sobti Patron IMA Ludhiana was the chief guest for the event and he was honoured by Mr Balwinder Singh from Sports Authority of India (SAI) . Dr Manoj Sobti said that The 'Sundays on cycle' movement has been initiated by the Union health minitry of India as part of Fit India campaign and has gained further momentum as doctors and health professionals cycled together. Dr Manoj Sobti emphasized the importance of exercise and healthy living.
Dr Dheeraj Aggarwal, President IMA Ludhiana underscored the critical need to combat obesity, urging collective action for a fitter nation.
Dr Ruchi Mutneja Secretary IMA Ludhiana stressed on urgency on tackling this issue with widespread participation from the medical fraternity demonstrating a unified commitment to a healthier India.
The event was attended by 50 Doctors of IMA Ludhiana and many officials and sports persons from Sports authority of India (SAI) .
IMA leaders, including Dr. Sunil Katyal, immediate Past President Punjab State IMA motivated everyone to stay fit. Eminent Doctors like Dr. PS Jassal, Dr Avinash Jindal, Dr Milan Verma, Dr Sachin, Dr Schumailla Bassi, Dr Pankaj Mittal, Dr Nitin Mittal and Dr Ashish Ohri joined the event, reinforcing the message of fighting obesity together."
