Green Land Senior Secondary Public School Celebrates The Legacy Of Rabindranath Tagore Through Inter-house Poetry Recitation

Green Land Senior Secondary Public School solemnly celebrated the birth anniversary of the great literary icon, Rabindranath Tagore, by organizing an Inter-House Poetry Recitation Competition for the students of Classes IX and X. The event aimed to pay tribute to Gurudev’s timeless contribution to literature and inspire students to connect with his profound thoughts and vision.

The medium of the competition was Punjabi, which added a unique cultural flavour to the event and encouraged students to express the essence of Tagore’s ideas in their regional language. The themes for the competition included “Tagore di Kavita vich Prakriti da Sundar Roop,” “Gurudev da Anmol Yogdan,” and “Gurudev de Sapne da Bharat etc.”

The students from all sections of IX-X participated enthusiastically and showcased their poetic excellence, confidence and deep understanding of Tagore’s philosophy. Their recitations beautifully reflected the harmony of nature, the richness of human values and the visionary dreams of Gurudev for a better world.

The Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, in his special message, appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers for organizing such a meaningful event. He emphasized that the teachings of Rabindranath Tagore continue to guide us towards creativity, humanity and universal brotherhood. He encouraged students to imbibe these values in their lives.

The Principal Mrs Baldeep Pandher expressed her pride in the participants and highlighted the importance of literary activities in nurturing creativity and cultural awareness among students. She motivated the students to explore literature deeply and carry forward the rich legacy of great thinkers like Gurudev.
