*23 Arrested, 170 Gm Heroin, 262 Intoxicant Tablets, 40 Capsules And 61.980 Kg Ganja Seized During Caso Operations By Kapurthala Police

As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing campaign against drugs, a Combing and Search Operation (CASO) was conducted across district on September 11 and 12, 2026, from 11 AM to 3 PM.

SSP Gaurav Toora said that the operation was aimed at apprehending drug peddlers, identifying and taking strict action against anti-social elements and suspicious persons, and strengthening the sense of peace and security among the general public. He said that during the operation, special naka-bandi, cordoning and search operations were conducted by police teams across all sub-divisions of the district.

During checking, 23 persons were arrested, from whose possession 170 grams of heroin, 262 intoxicant tablets, 40 capsules and 61.980 kg of ganja were recovered. In this regard, 19 FIRs have been registered under the relevant provisions of law.

SSP said that the Punjab government’s Yudh Nasheya Virudh campaign against drugs would continue against those involved in the illegal drug trade. He reiterated the Punjab Police commitment to the zero-tolerance policy against drugs. He said the police would continue to take firm action against drug peddlers while simultaneously strengthening awareness, prevention and rehabilitation efforts. He also appealed to the people to come forward and share information about drug-related activities.
