Bureau of Indian Standards, Chandigarh Branch Office, Chandigarh, organized an Industry Meet with Large Scale Industries for Maintaining Quality Ecosystem and Standard promotion at Hotel Rigal Blu, Ludhiana on 24-06-2024 with more than 50 industries/manufacturers. Shri Vishal Tomer, Director & Head welcomed the participants and highlighted the programme objectives and apprised about the programme schedule. Shri Rajeev P., Deputy Director General (North), while addressing the gathering highlighted the importance of adhering to the provisions as laid down for maintaining Quality Ecosystem and Standard Promotion needed. He expressed BIS concerns as observed during certification process and urged the participants to be more proactive in its adherence. Upkar Singh Ahuja President CICU was Chief Guest mentioned that BIS will play a vital role in coming time as many more products will be under BIS . He highlighted the various problems to obtain BIS standards, acceptance of ISI Mark in various countries ,Simplification of procedures, train and skill development regarding A presentation on overview of the activiti How to make and Quality Ecosystem along with support of industries of BIS was made by Sh. Ajay Maurya, Joint Director. Also, a presentation on BIS Activities and new BIS Guidelines was given by Mr. Kushagra Jindal. He also informed that BIS is continuously trying to do different activities to create awareness among the people and such practices will leads us to harmonious development of the society. The queries raised by the participants were suitably replied by Dy. Director General (North) and Head Chandigarh Branch Office. The participants were satisfied with the inputs received and appreciated the efforts of BIS in holding such industrial meet, enabling face to face interaction amongst the industrialists and BIS authorities. The meet ended with the hearty vote of thanks to Shri Rajeev P.,DDGN, other speakers and licensees for sparing their valuable time, active participation and fruitful discussions.
