There was exciting start for ASMITA Khelo India 3x3 basketball Sr. Women tournament being organized at Guru Nanak Stadium. In the morning the tournament was inaugurated by Vijay Chopra, a sports philanthropist in the presence of Teja Singh Dhaliwal PBA General secretary and Brij Bhushan Goyal a District Basketball official. A total of 12 teams turned up from the district to participate on the first day of 2 days league matches. Four pools were made and fourteen matches in total were played in these pools. Eight teams qualified to play their respective league matches tomorrow as under
Two teams have qualified for each pool as under.
Pool A: Guru Nanak Stadium Club & Khalsa School Club
Pool B: Ludhiana Club and IPS Hoopsters
Pool C: Guru Nanak Club & GADVASU University
Pool D Khalsa Club & PAU Hoopsters
The arrangements for the matches were supervised by coaches Jaipal Singh , Saloni, Narinder Pal, Ravinder and Sukhvinder Singh .
The district sports officer Kuldip Chugh have appealed students to come to see exciting matches of 3X3 format tomorrow which are played in the half court. The Ludhiana women have already made their mark in this format nationally said Goyal .
