Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana successfully organized Inter-College Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament of Men & Women. It was held at Indoor Gymnasium of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, and witnessed spirited participation from students across the Varsity’s constituent colleges, promoting sportsmanship, fitness, and healthy competition.
The event was graced by Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor as the Chief Guest, and Dr. SPS Ghuman, Director Students' Welfare. Dr. Bilawal Singh and Dr. Parteek Singh Dhaliwal as Coordinators ensured the smooth and successful conduct of all the matches. Dr Gill congratulated all the players not only for their success but for the participation also. He said that a sportsperson is a torch bearer of team spirit, confidence, strength and dynamism.
Students competed with great enthusiasm and energy, reflecting Varsity's commitment to promoting physical well-being and a culture of competitive sports among its youth.
The tournament concluded on a high note with an award distribution ceremony to honor the winners and appreciate the efforts of all the participants. Dr JPS Gill alongwith Officers of Varsity honored all the players.
RESULTS
In the Table Tennis (Men) category, Virat from College of Veterinary Science (COVS) Ludhiana secured the 1st position, followed by Angad Singh from Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences,(KCVAS) Amritsar at 2nd place,and Sachin from College of Dairy and Food Science Technology in 3rd place. In the Table Tennis (Women) category, Priyanka Thakur from COVS, Ludhiana bagged the 1st position, while Jaisleen Kaur from COVS, Rampura Phul stood 2nd.
In the Badminton (Men) category, Ujjwal Garg from KCVAS, Amritsar emerged as the winner, Gurbir Singh from COVS, Ludhiana claimed the 2nd position, and Pushpinder Singh from COVS, Rampura Phul took the 3rd position . For the Badminton (Women) event, Jaismeen Kaur Malhi from COVS, Ludhiana secured the 1st position and Aditi from KCVAS, Amritsar achieved the 2nd position.
