-- Constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 23 crore and spanning an area of 4,000 square meters, this museum is poised to become a significant pilgrimage center for the devotees and followers of the sect: Sampla CHANDIGARH, February 23 Senior BJP Leader and former union minister Vijay Sampla extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conducting the ground-breaking ceremony of the Sant Guru Ravidas Museum at Varanasi on Friday, a day before the 647th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas, and for inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development works related to the birthplace of Saint Guru, including new statue, on the tune of Rs 96.36 crore. Modi visited the Guru Ravidas temple and offered prayers, and later in the day, laid the foundation for the museum in Seer Goverdhanpur, the birthplace of the revered guru. He also unveiled a statue of Sant Ravidas inside the temple premises. Vijay Sampla, in his welcome address for PM Modi at Sant Guru Ravidas Museum, said, This is PM Modis third visit to the gurus birthplace. The event marked a significant milestone in the regions progress, showcasing the commitment of the BJP government towards cultural preservation. Modi ji is committed in overall development of the Dalit people and the new schemes and policies are example to it. Naming the Ayodhya airport on the name of Maharishi Valmiki, during the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir on January 22, is another gift to Dalits by the BJP government. Besides, in Modi jis leadership, all historic places related to B R Ambedkar have also been converted into pilgrimage centers, Sampla added. Sampla, who is also the former chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), further added, The Sant Guru Ravidas Museum is poised to become a symbol of cultural pride, celebrating the teachings and legacy of Sant Guru Ravidas, a revered spiritual figure.
