Demand for resignation of Modi and Khattar government during demonstration of Black Day. Central trade unions, independent federations and associations in India gave call today to observe Black Day to commemorate the martyrdom of young farmer Shubhakaran Singh who fought for his rights and against the Hitlerite atrocities being committed on farmers by the Modi government. Accordingly, AITUC, CTU Punjab, CITU and SKM jointly demonstrated outside the Mini Secretariat in Ludhiana and burnt effigies of Modi, Amit Shah, Khattar and Anil Vij. In their address, the speakers demanded the resignation of the Central and Haryana governments, registration of a murder case against them, appropriate punishment, compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased and an investigation by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court. Also demanded from the Punjab government that a case should be registered against the accused who opened fire in our area. Speakers also demanded that the government has failed to take a stand in the WTO, hence the government should leave the WTO and bring together the non-aligned countries. Developing countries should come forward to create a new common trading system. Those who spoke on the occasion included Com D P Maur, Com M S Bhatia, Com Vijay Kumar AITUC, Com Jagdish Chand, Com Paramjit Singh and Com Balram Singh CTU Punjab, farmer leader Chamkaur Singh, Charan Sarabha. Apart from this, Keval Singh Banwait from AITUC and Tehsildar Singh from CTU also spoke. Comrade Malkit Malrha raised slogans against Modi government. The speakers further said that the way barriers have been installed on the GT Road is disgusting in itself and the idea is to give equal status to the farmers as foreign invaders. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had even said that the farmers were marching as if they were a foreign invading army. Saying this to innocent poor farmers it shows the mentality of the RSS backed Modi led BJP government towards the farmers of Punjab. But the farmers and workers have come together and intensified the struggle, due to which Modi has become completely distraught.
